JOB SUMMARY: The Finance Officer is a member of the finance team at the National Office and is responsible for capturing financial data in the Quickbooks, producing monthly financial reports, administering business advances, bank-related transactions; custody of checks, vouchers and other accounting forms.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Captures and posts financial data into computerized accounting system on a regularly;
• Submits journal entries for review and posts into Ledger;
• Reviews account balances and ensures proper reconciliation;
• Reconciles receivable accounts and ensures all payable and receivable accounts are netted off to zero;
• Updates and reconciles the Assets Register on a monthly basis;
• Prepares monthly and quarterly financial reports;
• Coordinates deposits and withdrawals from Help Lesotho accounts as requested;

• Issues source documents to staff members and
• Trains staff and volunteers to perform finance functions as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced Diploma in Accounting from a recognized university or institution;
• At least three years of experience in financial management preferably in NGO environment;
• Experience in QuickBooks is an added advantage;
• Must be fluent in English (oral and written) and Sesotho;
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability and
• A high level of Microsoft Word and Excel abilities are required.
