Project title: Technical Assistance to Support the Implementation of the National Adaptation Strategy for the Sugar Sector in the Kingdom of Swaziland
Brief description: An ongoing project, with duration of 48 months and started in Dec 2013. Its purpose is "to improve the competitiveness of the sugar industry while at the same time reducing poverty in the sugar regions of Swaziland."
The purpose of the Technical Assistance services is NAS coordination to be improved, implementation of EU funds under the AMSP accelerated and results to be better monitored.
Commencement date of the assignment: March 2015
Duration of the assignment: 400 work days over 24 months
Requirements
Qualifications and skills:
- At least a Masters degree academic level or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline (such as civil engineering, agricultural or rural engineering)
- Alternatively, a basic degree in a relevant area with at least 5 years additional experience above the general professional experience indicated below
- Demonstrable high levels of innovative and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential
- Fully computer literate (word processing, spread sheets)
General professional experience:
- At least 10 years' experience in planning, design, development and governai1ce of small and medium dams and irrigation distribution systems and schemes within a national institution
Specific professional experience:
- Experience with contract management processes (SOPs)
- Experience in the Southern African region is highly desirable
