HEAD OF CREDIT
Lesotho Post Bank, a financial services provider of choice in Lesotho is looking for a highly competent Mosotho candidate to fill the vacant position of Head of Credit
REPORTING LINE:
Head of Credit reports to Managing Director.

JOB PURPOSE:
To manage credit risk and to ensure quality assets are placed and retained in the book.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review and develop the banks credit policies and guidelines;
• Ensure that Credit Procedure Manual, Local Credit Policy and Risk Acceptance Criteria and manuals are in place and conform to best practice at all times;
• Evaluation of credit proposals and assess whether applications meet sound business criteria and whether counter-party credit risk falls within acceptable parameters which create profit / value as well as the associated risks;
• Proactively drive the review process of existing facilities, ensure a consistent thorough and timely evaluation of all existing facilities;
• Approve draw down of facilities (limit slips) once satisfied that all terms and conditions of sanction and/or covenants that require action prior to draw down have been met and all required security has been obtained and in order.
• Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory bodies and as well as Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Process(KYP) requirements;
• Oversee safe custody of all security documentation and sign-off for permanent release of the security documents;
• Oversee timely and quality credit assessment and decision are made;
• Oversee the debt collection and rehabilitation management;
• Assess pay /no-pay motivations and take credit decisions;
• Manage adherence to the service level agreement that have been concluded;
• Manage all staff under his/her supervision

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Degree in BCom Accounting /Finance/ Financial Management/Banking/Law or equivalent
• Professional qualification; CIS, ACCA, CFA, CFP or and CA will be an added advantage.
• Seven (7) years Credit Management experience and at least three (3) years at senior management level
• Credit evaluation experience with complex credits structuring is key
• Experience in marketing would be an added advantage
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• An in depth knowledge of advanced lending techniques, bank products, credit rules and procedures
• FIA, banking and Commercial Law
• A good understanding and analysis of financial statements and cash flows.
• Professional qualification; CIS, ACCA, CFA, CFP or and CA will be an added advantage.
• Seven (7) years Credit Management experience and at least three (3) years at senior management level
