MSH JOB VACANCY: District Logistics Officers’ Positions

Background
The Government of Lesotho through Ministry Health has received funding from the Global Fund to improve the supply chain and logistics management of pharmaceuticals in five districts of Lesotho.

Positions
Five (5) Districts Logistics Officers are needed (one for each of the following districts, Quthing; Qacha’s Nek, Mokhotlong Leribe and Thaba Tseka)

Specific Responsibilities
1. Manage the Pharmaceutical Management Information System (PMIS) at the health facilities and assure correct data collection and data entry.
2. Assure accurate, correct and timely collection of ART-related patient and supply chain data from all the health centers.
3. Ongoing on the job training of health facilities’ staff responsible for supply chain management in the use of stock cards and other inventory management tools, reporting and proper storage and stock rotation principles.
4. Assist in the correct, complete, timely and accurate reporting from all the health facilities.
5. Assist in the consolidation of ART-related patient and supply chain data from H/Cs at district level
6. Assist in the analysis of monthly stock reports from health facilities; develop and implement the monthly distribution plan for ART-related commodities.
7. Assist in the analysis of patient and stock reports and assist in the development of quarterly PMIS reports
8. Supervision of H/Cs staff responsible for inventory management and reporting.
9. Ensure the maintenance of stock movement records in the health facilities’ store, including orders due, quantity delivered, balances due, and quantity dispatched.
10. Plan for the distribution of pharmaceuticals and other supplies to all health facilities throughout the district.
11. Ensure that all incoming and outgoing supplies at health facilities are accounted for and managed properly.
12. Other duties as needed or requested by supervisor

Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with a minimum of 3 years proven relevant logistics experience in a management position or a minimum of 5 years of proven experience for Diploma in Pharmacy Technology.
2. Thorough knowledge of the logistics process and transportation routes in Lesotho
3. Experience with Logistics Software packages or ERPs (e.g. RxSolution, SAP, etc.) preferred
4. Knowledge of the inventory audit process and training experience preferred
5. Thorough understanding of warehousing and distribution systems.
6. Skilled in Microsoft products (Excel, Word).
