The CSS Telecomms Division of the Acquisition Department has two vacancies for Manager Technical.
The purpose of this job is to translate the SANDF Tactical Communications requirements into technical statements of work, contractual outputs and deliverables as well as to manage contracts from a financial, schedule and technical perspective.
CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS
To interpret user requirements for Tactical Communication systems, including Network Management, Data Exchange, Radio Communication and Spectrum Management.
Identify shortcomings/problems with current and future tactical communication systems and identify possible solutions, generate technology proposals and manage these programmes.
To create an acquisition project portfolio, supported by Strategy formulation and execution.
To compile programme plans, development plans, acquisition plans and project budgets
To define high deliverables, WBS elements and SOWs.
To compile RFO / RFI / RFP documents
To establish value systems and contractual documentation
To manage technical, financial and schedule performance of the projects
EXPERT ABILITY AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
BSc Eng / B Eng (Electronics) or equivalent
Qualification in Project Management and a Post Graduate qualification in Electronic Engineering will be a recommendation.
Minimum of 7 years engineering experience in Tactical Communication Systems with specific emphasis on Network Management, Radio Communication, Data Protocols and Spectrum Management.
Good interpersonal, communication, planning and organising skills
Strong technical thinker with problem solving and analytical abilities.
Advanced computer skills
