The Project Director will oversee implementation of all activities under a USAID Project aimed at increasing demand for and uptake of high quality and Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision ( VMMC) and Early Infant Circumcision ( EIMC) in the Kingdom of Swaziland. The Project Director will provide vision, direction, leadership, and management to ensure the strategic, programmatic, technical, and financial integrity of the project. The Project Director will be responsible for achieving the planned results set out for the project and will be the primary point of contact with USAID, local government counterparts, and partner institutions.

Major Accountabilities
- Work with technical and operational team to ensure effective implementation and coordination of project activities and monitor progress toward the achievement of the project goals and objectives
- Harness human, material, and financial resources appropriate for the project
- Monitor progress towards achieving the specific target outcomes for each of three designated Results Packages
- Work with finance and project staff to develop and track project budgets
- Oversee full administration of the project, including human and financial resources
- Supervise and manage a team of highly qualified staff and align their efforts with project goals
- Provide technical leadership and expertise to ensure the highest standards of integrity, accuracy and alignment with all priorities, policies and guidelines ( USAID, PEPFAR, WHO) regarding male circumcision
- Assure sustainability of interventions through capacity building and systems strengthening
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of project activities and results to USAID
- Troubleshoot to prevent and resolve potential problems and review outputs for quality control
- Represent the project in all matters pertaining to the execution of project-related activities before local government officials, USAID, and other partners, including interactions with the most senior level representatives of these institutions
- Cultivate relationships with the Ministry of Health at all levels and across various departments
- Cultivate strategic relationships and alliances with the other USG partners and funders
- Serve as the primary advocate for the project with the Government of the Kingdom of Swaziland and with national/international partners
- Present progress, achievements, and lessons learned to key stakeholders, including USAID, the government, and other implementing partners
- Increase the visibility of the project through representation at high-level visits with USAID and the Ministry of Health
Education
- MD or PhD in public health or related health, medical, or social science discipline
Experience, Skills & Minimum Required Qualifications
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience in the management of international health or development projects, with proven capacity in building and managing a diverse team of technical and support staff
- Significant experience managing service delivery and technical assistance projects. Experience with and in-depth knowledge of VMMC, EIMC, and PEPFAR priorities
- Demonstrated competence managing USAID projects
- Proven experience establishing working relationships and collaborating with USG, other bilateral and/or multilateral donor agencies, and with host-country governments
- Fluent English oral and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally in English
