Our Client -is one of South Africa's leading multi-disciplinary contractors. They are seeking a Material Technician to co-ordinate and control the regular testing of raw material for asphalt production and the manufactured asphalt bituminous products

- Demonstrate an understanding of asphalt and bituminous product mix design and knowledge regarding surfacing technology
- Carry out routine tests on raw materials for asphalt production
- Maintain records on an asphalt plant
- Conduct routine plant tests
- Apply quality principles
- Apply productivity principles
- Identify describe and use materials in Civil Engineering construction
- Apply health and safety to a work area
Candidate Requirements -
- Grade 12 with technical subjects
- N4 Certificate will be an added advantage
- Course in Asphalt and Bitumen Technology
- Minimum requirement: at least 6 years in a relevant technical position
- Desired requirement: Junior Foreman for 3 years
- Action and goal orientated with ability to apply expertise and technology
- Strong planning, organizing and administrative skills
- Co-ordinate and control technical operations
- Computer literate
- Adhere to principles and values
- Apply good governance principles
- Deals effectively with change
- Produce and maintain effective business results
- Maintains effective relationships
