Expert 2: Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) expert (CAT I)
Qualifications and skills
• Development specialist, with relevant post-graduate degree in IWRM or related field (master or equivalent).
General professional experience
• Experience with policy formulation in IWRM;
• Experience with institutional strengthening and capacity building in IWRM;
• Experience in planning and implementation of water resource management programmes and projects;
• Fully conversant with the project cycle management and EC aid delivery methods;
• Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills;
• Computer literacy, excellent report writing skills and ability to produce quality documents;
• Proven team player in similar assignments;
• Possesses good analytical skills.
Specific professional experience
• At least twelve (12) years of relevant experience in the water resources management sector;
• Experience in specific capacity building issues in IWRM, including incentive options for committee members;
• Knowledge of and expertise in the development of performance monitoring systems for tracking progress in IWRM;
• Experience of working in similar assignments in Southern Africa will be considered an asset.
Duration: 50 working days.
