Budget Expert

Qualifications and skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law Public Finance, Economics, Accounting, Public Administration or equivalent professional qualification (preferably obtained in a Commonwealth Country);
  • Fluent command of both written and spoken English; and
  • Computer Literate.
General professional experience
  • Minimum of 10-years of general professional experience;
  • Minimum of 5-years of project management experience and demonstrated management skills;
  • Proven experience in all aspects of a budget department operations;
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills; and
  • Excellent analytical and document drafting skills.
Specific professional experience
  • Minimum of 10-years of practical work in budget departments in the public sector;
  • Minimum of 5-of the above years in a developing country environment (Sub-Saharan Africa experience would be an advantage);
  • Thorough knowledge of for example, MTEF, BFP, budget calendars, PBB etc.;
  • Developed and delivered training, mentoring and sensitisation on PFM regulatory frameworks; and
  • Experience in advising highest level of government officials and managers on budget issues.
