Job Purpose:
To identify market opportunities, which can influence new product developments and competitive pricing of business banking services, and oversee the execution of communication strategies to ensure growth in market share and oversee the enhancement of financial education to all customers including Groups, Cooperative, Schemes, SMMEs and Business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Oversee the execution of customer information and relationship plans and programmes- both short and medium term with focus on revenue growth, and penetration of the Bank’s products and / or services.
•Identify target markets with the intention to develop appropriate value adding product mix strategies, and optimise customer reception to Postbank offering.
•Plan and oversee the implementation of new product launches with the aim to gain maximum exposure for the new and existing products.
•Execute the Bank’s external communication strategies, including but not limited to publicity, sponsorship, sales promotion and advertising, to ensure that the Postbank brand gets entrenched in the market.
•Undertake on own account, and direct personal selling programme to be executed by subordinates in the promotion of Postbank’s products, company image and facilitating financial literacy to customers
•Ensures maintenance of relationships with the new and existing customers
•Oversee and coordinates events to ensure that the bank gets maximum exposure.
•Oversee the execution of market research with the view of understanding customers needs
•Oversee internal communication using such instruments as the newsletter, IT systems, meetings and other mechanisms, so as to continuously inform the Postbank employees about departmental developments within the Bank.
•Communicate product related issues with the aim to gain a buy-in of relevant internal stakeholders, in respect of product development or enhancements, product launches etc.
•Edit Postbank newsletter to ensure that information pertaining to general operations is effectively disseminated to the staff members and external stakeholders.
•Inform the Product and Pricing Management Committee in respect of relevant market developments with the aim to ensure development of market responsive products and tailor made products for potential customers.
•Liaise with Branch Managers in respect of departmental activities that comprise sales promotions, research feed-back, road shows, etc
•Prepares monthly activity and sales reports
Required Competencies:
The position is a managerial and the incumbent is expected to have the following skills:
•Writing and reporting; Communication and Presentation; Selling and sound business acumen; Analytical and Problem solving, Good appreciation of research issues, Networking skills, Innovative and proactive, Three dimensional thinker, Interpersonal skills, Computer skills
•Knowledge of credit principles and preparation of good credit proposals
•Ability to work with customers at different levels e.g. SMEs and SMMEs
Education and Experience
To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be possess the following;
•Bcom Accounting or Economics plus at least five years in business banking or marketing, three of which must have been at supervisory position in the retail environment.
•Experience in banking or financial sector.
•A member of professional qualification like CA, CIS or CFP will be an added advantage.
