Catering Manager Position
ESS, a division of Compass Group S.A requires a Catering Manager at Liqhobong Diamond Mine in Mokhotlong. Under the guidance of the line manager, the ideal person will be responsible for the service and to provide great quality food service and support services as required. She/he will be responsible for the management, development and training of all team members under direct supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Taking reasonable care for own health and safety and that of others.
•Co-operating with line manager on HSE matters.
•Planning and coordinating all catering responsibilities as well as scheduling and training of in-unit staff.
•Planning, scheduling and executing of policies and procedures pertaining to kitchen requirements.
•Ensuring proper discipline among Kitchen staff members.
•Assist line manager to complete action plans following client satisfaction surveys.
•Ensuring all retail areas are adequately stocked at all times.
•Ensuring all customer requirements are delivered in line with the expectations.
•Ensuring the restaurant is set up when it is necessary.
•If required by the line manager, ensuring standard menus in place and are in line with financial budget.
•If required by the line manager, assisting the supervisors on monitoring and recording food wastage.
•Ensuring all customer requirements are communicated to line manager in advance to ensure effective planning.
•Ensuring high quality food offers.
•Weekly stock takes
Minimum Skills Requirements:
•Min COSC plus Degree /Diploma in Hospitality Management/Equivalent.
•Min 5 years experience in a similar position within the mining /catering / hospitality background.
•Proven experience in supervising Kitchen Staff of approximately 25+ employees.
•Excellent communication skills required, good writing skills and business etiquette.
•Ability to draw up rosters, timetables and produce reports.
•Must be computer literate (Ms Word/ Excel).
