POST NO. 0186: WELFARE OFFICER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF STUDENT AFFAIRS
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Masters Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
- Three to Five years experience working with students at tertiary institution in a supervisory level.
Duties:
- Providing welcoming home for students.
- Integrating new students in to the intellectual, cultural and social climate of the university.
- Assist new students in understanding purpose of higher education and the mission of the university.
- Prepare students for diverse campus environment.
- Provide and manage safe, comfortable, well maintained Supportive and conducive campus accommodation that will enable student to study effectively.
- Assisting students to gain access to all programs, services and activities sponsored by the University.
- Providing appropriate assistance to and opportunities for students with disabilities so that they are able to compete equally with their peers in academic programs.
- Provide assistance to international students.
- Ensuring maintenance of law and order in residencies and enforce compliance discipline.
Contract Duration:
The appointment for this post shall be a two year contract
