JOB PURPOSE

The incumbent is responsible for production of consolidated financial plans for the government of Lesotho (GOL) in order to ensure availability of funds to finance national activities. He/she is responsible for establishment, up-dating and maintenance of a database for all the GOL bank accounts as well as ensuring that such are, every month, reconciled. He/she, from time to time, must access the risk, especially the financial risk, of the GOL so as to ensure existence of healthy liquidity and solvency. The finance director leads the cash management unit. His/her additional responsibilities include development of bank relationships, developing and recommending government-wide cash management policies and procedures, researching new advances in cash management and banking and implementation of technological solutions that will help optimization of the GOL’s cash balances.
