Overview:
Accion’s Frontier Investments Group is seeking a graduate-level candidate or business professional to participate in a 10-12 week internship based at one of its portfolio companies, Zoona – an African-based mobile-enabled payment solutions provider targeting the financially underserved. The Summer Associate will be based in Cape Town, South Africa and will focus on developing a statistical model to better understand agent productivity and incentivization. Qualifications:
This is an opportunity for talented, motivated and adventurous candidates who love solving hard problems to work with an innovative early-stage pan-African technology company. Summer Associates must commit to 10-12 weeks based in Cape Town, South Africa. This candidate will work closely with product and project managers to understand the factors contributing to the company’s agent commission cost structure and use this understanding to construct a regression model (or equivalent) of these variables and their correlation to revenue generation. Qualified candidates will have experience in mathematics, econometrics and/or statistics and will be comfortable leveraging software (like SAS, SPSS, R, Python or similar) to manipulate and tabulate data, test hypotheses and create data visualizations for presenting key findings and insights.
