Boiler Maker/Welder

Matekane Transport and Plant Hire (Pty) Ltd invites suitably qualified candidates for the position of Boiler Maker/Welder in the Workshop Division under the direct supervision of the Workshop Manager. 
Qualification & Experience: Tertiary qualification in welding and boiler maker with 8 years relevant experience.
Competencies: Sound knowledge of the use of sheet metal for different applications, sound knowledge of the use of gas and other welding equipment, sound knowledge of the use of grinders and cutting disks for the right application, good report writing skills, good negotiation and communication skills, energetic, enthusiastic, motivated, conscientious and ability to work under pressure

JOB PURPOSE: Maintain, repair and service the asphalt plant and batching plant, construct, assemble, weld components of equipment machinery and materials

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain, repair and service the asphalt plant and batching plant
• Weld and braise components of all earthmoving equipment and other equipment to enable effective operation of all plant
• Attend to breakdowns of all metal and non- metal equipment that needs to be welded, bolted, or boiler made at any site where we operate.
• Diagnose and repair welding faults in all equipment using welding equipment and gas where necessary
• Perform welding and braising of all equipment and batching plant
• Cut and assemble components of all equipment, machinery and batching plant
• Perform all functions of a boiler maker with observance of safety
• Perform any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
